We work with parenting couples whether they are living together or not. Couples work is done with one or two threapists dependng on complexity and we use the VPT model (Vital Parenting Tasks) - click here to read more about the VPT.
We also work with the court and social services when there is an issue involving high conflict divorces and parental alienation. We look to support both parents in finding ways to work together in the best interests of their children. We are often named by the court or specialist solicitors in such cases.
We also welcome adults (whether parents or not) for psychotherapy and counselling (either face to face or remotely). We offer short and long term therapy and EMDR for trauma and depression. Click here to read more about EMDR
The way in which we work with adults is similar to therapy with children and young people, although of course, themes are often more sophisticated. Adults who would like to use creative media are encouraged to do so; creative skills are not required. Adults report that they find this work helpful for the same reasons as children. This might be because many adult difficulties can stem from earlier experiences in childhood or young adulthood. Those who do not wish to engage in creative work however, need not do so and in that case we will explore issues by discussion only.
