The course includes use of the Vital Parenting Tasks (VPT) which has been the subject of a research Doctorate and focuses on parenting capacity as well as the intimate relational interactions between parent and child. The VPT uses creative methods to assess and work with this relational material. The course also focuses on the use of the Vital Parenting Tasks Assessment (VPTA-A) as its main therapeutic assessment tool |
The course offers a mixture of lectures, seminars and tutor-led learning combined with clinical practice and group supervision. The course is run fully online and open to clinicians worldwide, subject to being able to attend teaching session taking place on UK time (GMT/BST). You do not need to have worked with parents already but you must have had more than 150 supervised post-qualitfying clinical hours working with children in order to apply.
